Artist/Furniture Designer/Pasta Recipe

Kevin Walz, Pull Up Chair
I came across the work of Kevin Walz at Metropolis.com and was impressed by the above chair that he made out of walnut veneer and carbon fibers in a method that is used to build canoes. The Pull Up Chair, which was designed for Ralph Pucci, weighs only two pounds and is finished with an impregnator that stains and strengthens the wood from within. Besides being a prolific furniture designer, Walz is also an artist and his site features a lot of work made with textiles. As with most creative people, who have good taste in many things, he shares an interesting pasta sauce recipe made with tomatoes and walnuts that you can find here.
